Fichero EFICAZ is a tool against the loan of bank credits that aims to increase security and protect users in the framework of games of chance. The Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón, has announced the Fichero EFICAZ project at the event organized by the General Directorate for the Regulation of Gambling for the International Day of Responsible Gaming.
Restrict credit to gamblers
Fichero EFICAZ is a platform for personal use.And it will be the players themselves who voluntarily decide to restrict themselves so as not to request quick credits in times of crisis. When the user registers on the new platform, financial providers will not be able to provide them with online financing. In the event that a registered player wishes to request a credit, the bank will automatically receive an Fichero EFICAZ notification and the credit will be avoided. The platform is completely free and any user can register.
One of the main measures of Fichero EFICAZ is to avoid the player’s debt and eliminate the spiral of irrational and reckless gambling and consumption that usually accompanies players. The Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón, thus plans to end the problems derived from physical and online gambling that mainly accuses the youngest and other vulnerable groups.
According to official data from the Government of Spain, it is estimated that gambling currently affects 0.4% of the population. However, this figure increases to 2.1% among the youngest.
Fichero EFICAZ is a tool developed by the Spanish Federation of Rehabilitated Gamblers (FEJAR) and the Spanish Association of Fintech and Insurtech (AEFI). It has been presented today, although it is still in the development phase and it is estimated that it will be ready in the coming months.
